2008 Futa Tax was due on March 15, 2009. If you have any employees for 2008 you are required to filed IRS 940 Tax Form (Futa Tax). The 2009 940 Tax Form will released at the end of 2009 and will be due on March 15, 2010.

FUTA rate for 2011. The 6.2% FUTA tax rate scheduled to decrease to 6.0% after June 30, 2011. The FUTA rate for 2011 is 6.2% from January 1, 2011 to June 30, 2011 and 6.0% from July 1, 2011 – December 31, 2011.

Form 940 (Futa Tax) is only filed once a year so the 2009 Futa Tax form update won’t occur until near the end of 2009. You are required to depost your 940 Futa Tax liability if the liability exceeds $500 at the end of a quarter.
